FOR AUTHORS

  • Submitting
    • Authors must submit their manuscripts here.

  • Languages
    • We receive manuscripts in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian.
  • Kind of manuscript
    • We accept articles, reviews and authorized translations. Translations must be authorized by the original author and original publisher.

    • Co-authorship is permitted and there is no limit of co-authors per article.

    • There are no fees and the journal is open access.
  • Exclusivity
    • Authors must preferably submit their manuscripts exclusively to us.
  • Contact about submissions
    • Please contact the thematic section organizer. All communication is made by email between the author and the issue editor.
  • Contact about general information
    • Please send an email to Heitor Pagliaro, the editor-in-chief: <heitor@heitorpagliaro.com>.
  • Formatting
  • Reviewing
    • The review of the manuscripts follows the international standard of double-blind review. All reviewers are PhDs. Before sending the manuscript to a referee, the editors will proceed with a first assessment to verify if the article respects the formatting rules and is suitable according to the journal's scope. There are three possible decisions: approved (unaltered), approved (required changes) and rejected.
  • Publication
    • If the manuscript is approved (without corrections or after the approval of the corrections made by the author), then we will proceed with the proofreading and the manuscript will be sent to the author in order for him to agree with the corrections. When the journal receives the author's acceptance after the proofreading, then we consider that the manuscript is in the final version to be published.
  • Plagiarism
    • A manuscript will be refused or have its publication canceled if there are proofs of plagiarism.
  • License
    • Authors retain copyright and publishing rights without restrictions and grant the journal right of first publication. Authors grant LAHRS a license to publish and distribute the work under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY Attribution 4.0 International) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in LAHRS. This license allows reusers to distribute, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use.
  • Open access
    • The journal is online only and permanently open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.
